A Wonderful Thanksgiving at Mom's

Will and I rode back to Covington with Mom and Kristen on Saturday and Jerry followed on Wednesday since he had to work.

On Sunday we rode with Mom, Grandad, and Uncle Tommy to West Virginia to put flowers on Grandma Nelson's grave.  It was great to spend some time with Uncle Tommy (even if we did risk Will picking up some new vocabulary!  hahaha!).  We also stopped to visit my (second or third?) cousin, Michael, who was in a motorcylce accident over the summer.  He is still recovering, but is doing much better than the doctor's expected.  He is able to walk  even though they thought he wouldn't.  Quite a few of my extended family members came by while we were at Tina's to visit Michael so we had a great visit.  H.A. came and brought his son Dakota who is Will's age so the two of them got to have lunch together.

Since there were no wildflowers blooming Will chose a rock to put on Grandma's
grave for her.  I know she would have loved Will so much and had such a
fun time spoiling him rotten (just like she did me!).  I wish she had
gotten to meet him - but I guess that's what heaven is for!
We had a full but fun week preparing for Thanksgiving dinner at Mom's house.  It turned out to be a really nice dinner since so many people from both sides of the family were able to join us - I think we had about 17 people!  Unfortunately, I neglected to bring my camera so I missed out on some really cute pictures of Will playing with his cousins Savannah and Sophia.

On Friday we went to see Jenny, Craig, and Brittney.  Will quickly made friends with their kitten, Winston.  They let Winston out to play and he quickly discovered the grasshoppers on the hillside.  Will watched him pounce on them then eat them (sooo gross!)  So when Will saw one on the driveway, he pounced on it and then fed it to Winston - who actually ate it out of Will's hand!  I think after that Winston decided Will must be an o.k. guy because he let Will pick him up and carry him around (very awkwardly, of course).  It made Will's day to catch grasshoppers, feed the cat, and carry him around.  He loves cats and wants one so badly.  I wish every day that I wasn't so allergic to them!  : (

Will feeding Winston a grasshopper.  I guess I should be glad he
didn't try to eat it himself!

I was just waiting for Winston to get tired of being held and claw his way
out of Will's arms but he never did.  I guess all those grasshopper
offerings made it worthwhile to put up with Will.

We left to drive home on Sunday - and so did everyone else in a 500 mile radius!  Traffic was terrible!  I couldn't believe how many accidents there were even though the weather conditions were perfect!  Though it was a long trip I was thankful we made it safely!
