Will has recently made a game of taking Jerry's wallet from his pocket and running away with it. This evening he took the wallet and Jerry's pedometer (the two things Jerry always has with him) and ran into the living room. He proudly held them up saying "Now I stole everything I need to be a man!" I always knew men had it easy - all they need is a wallet and a pedometer!

Body Art
I saw Will behind the kitchen table and he was acting a little suspicious but I didn't think anything of it until later that evening. I noticed he had marker on his foot and I asked him how in the world he got marker all the way down on his foot. Then it suddenly hit me why he looked suspicious earlier. I pulled up his pant legs and both legs were quite colorful. It was hard not to laugh, especially when when I asked him why he drew on himself. He had a slick response and an innocent look ready for me and said "I didn't know any better. I thought I was a piece of paper."
If you look close you can see the neatly written "W" on his left knee. He said he wrote that so everyone would know his name. |

A Wonderful Thanksgiving at Mom's
Will and I rode back to Covington with Mom and Kristen on Saturday and Jerry followed on Wednesday since he had to work.
On Sunday we rode with Mom, Grandad, and Uncle Tommy to West Virginia to put flowers on Grandma Nelson's grave. It was great to spend some time with Uncle Tommy (even if we did risk Will picking up some new vocabulary! hahaha!). We also stopped to visit my (second or third?) cousin, Michael, who was in a motorcylce accident over the summer. He is still recovering, but is doing much better than the doctor's expected. He is able to walk even though they thought he wouldn't. Quite a few of my extended family members came by while we were at Tina's to visit Michael so we had a great visit. H.A. came and brought his son Dakota who is Will's age so the two of them got to have lunch together.
On Friday we went to see Jenny, Craig, and Brittney. Will quickly made friends with their kitten, Winston. They let Winston out to play and he quickly discovered the grasshoppers on the hillside. Will watched him pounce on them then eat them (sooo gross!) So when Will saw one on the driveway, he pounced on it and then fed it to Winston - who actually ate it out of Will's hand! I think after that Winston decided Will must be an o.k. guy because he let Will pick him up and carry him around (very awkwardly, of course). It made Will's day to catch grasshoppers, feed the cat, and carry him around. He loves cats and wants one so badly. I wish every day that I wasn't so allergic to them! : (
We left to drive home on Sunday - and so did everyone else in a 500 mile radius! Traffic was terrible! I couldn't believe how many accidents there were even though the weather conditions were perfect! Though it was a long trip I was thankful we made it safely!

Will feeding Winston a grasshopper. I guess I should be glad he didn't try to eat it himself! |
I was just waiting for Winston to get tired of being held and claw his way out of Will's arms but he never did. I guess all those grasshopper offerings made it worthwhile to put up with Will. |

Mom & Kristen Came to Visit
Mom and Kristen came up to visit this week. Jerry was supposed to be out of town so they planned to be here to help with Will. It turned out that Jerry's trip was cancelled so we just had a nice visit together instead. Will did much better going to preschool on Thursday since Aunt Krissy promised to pick him up afterward. Will definitely had a wonderful time with Kristen here, but I know she never wants to see another train table or car again!

Read This for a Good Laugh
Will to Jerry while playing Wii tanks:
"Daddy can I see your pee pee?"
"What?!" (completely taken off guard and not knowing what to say)
"You know, your penis. The thing where pee pee comes out."
"No!" Then a pause where Jerry didn't know how to follow that up.
Mommy steps in to clarify: "That is one of those parts of our bodies that are private and we don't show to others."
Will: "Except to the doctor, right?" (remembering the conversation we had last time at the doctor's office)
Will to Mommy while we were sitting on the couch talking about bones:
"Does my penis have a bone in it?"
"No."
"Well it feels like something round in there."
"Your penis is just made of skin." And thankfully that satisfied his curiosity and ended the conversation!
As Jerry was cleaning up the kitchen after breakfast:
First Jerry asked Will to open the garage door for him so he could take the trash out. Will ran away and said "No! That trash bag is smelly!" Then Jerry asked him to bring him a knife off the kitchen table. Will promptly said "No!" and ran in the living room to me saying "Mommy! Daddy is trying to make me do all these dangerous jobs! First he tried to make me open the door when he had that trash bag! Then he told me to pick up a knife and knif-es (knives) are sharp!"
I asked why it was dangerous to open the door and he said because he would have to smell that yucky trash bag!
After Will locked Jerry's socks in the bathroom:
Me to Will: "We have had the discussion about locking doors. You know we aren't supposed to lock doors in the house. What is that when we lock doors?" (The answer I was looking for was "safety issue" because that is what we have discussed before.)
The very remorseful answer I got instead: "It's a sin!" (Because we have also had to have the conversation about lying being a sin!)
Will's response to Jerry asking him to finish his breakfast:
"Why are you making me explode!"

Will's Skeleton
During Halloween Will saw a skeleton in Walmart and asked what that "thing" was. Since he seemed a little scared of it, I normalized it by explaining that it was a model of what his bones looked like inside his body. We talked about the names of the bones which he thought was really cool. All season he wanted to buy the skeleton so I waited until it went on clearance after Halloween and bought it for him.
I guess the skeleton has been a good learning tool. While he was playing with Grandma today he bumped his knee and said "Ouch! I hurt my patella!" |

Grandma Surprised Us!
I have had a cold hanging on for the past week and a half, and Will is still trying to get rid of the cough he has had. After play day today we were getting ready for lunch and I saw Mom pulling in the driveway!! What a wonderful surprise!! She had come to take care of us since we were not feeling great (even though she can hardly walk on her knee)! I am so blessed!!
