The Past Six Weeks

It feels like it's been forever since I updated my blog.  I was getting ready to title this post "Update on the Past Few Months."  Then I looked at my last post and realized it was only 6 weeks ago!!  That pretty much summarizes my feelings - time is dragging!  But there is light at the end of this apartment tunnel.  The people leasing our house in Roanoke finally have a contract on their house in Richmond so we should be closing on that house at the end of February.  We are also moving forward with buying the house here so hopefully we can begin moving the middle of March.  That just still seems so far off at this point!

I'm not very motivated to create an inspiring, entertaining, or well written post but here are some recent (sadly unedited) pictures...

I managed to dig out and put up a few decorations - and even made a place
for our small Christmas tree.

We baked cookies but it was interesting without my rolling pin and cookie cutters!
My water bottle did double duty that day!

Will made a baby Jesus cookie since we didn't have our
cookie cutters.  : )
Obviously the cookies were still delicious even without
all our supplies!
I made a class ornament for Will's teacher.  I had each child in his class
decorate a small circle then folded and glued them together.

Will drew a snowman and wrote "Let it Snow" on his circle.
Arby's in Altoona was having a coloring contest when we went for
lunch one day.  Will wanted to participate - mainly because first place was
a Toys R Us gift card!  He worked SO hard coloring!

I really didn't know that he could color that well!

We got the call a couple weeks later that Will had won third place.
He was so excited about winning his gift card!
He of course enjoyed the candlelight service at Faith Baptist
again this year.

I didn't end up with many pictures, but we traveled to mom's
house for Christmas.

Then we had Christmas here after we got home.  Will was too sleepy after
the drive home Saturday, so we waited until Sunday morning.

Thankfully the weather was decent that afternoon and we were
able to take Will to try out his new bike at the
rails to trails path.

We went to Texas Roadhouse and Will actually wanted
to get on the saddle for his birthday!  I would
never have guessed he would want to do that!

We went to Hershey park one weekend.  They had the whole park lit up and
most of the rides open.  It was rather cold, but Will of course never noticed that part!

We took Will to Blue Knob Ski Resort for snowboard lessons.  We didn't think he
would last the entire 2.5 hours but he loved it and wasn't ready to leave!
We painted pottery at 2000 Degrees in State College one weekend for some entertainment.

We nearly froze at the First Night festivities in State College this year, but
the kettle corn was worth it!  : )
